Occasion: While on vacation, my friends brought us here after clubbing on a Saturday night. They were raving about their special hot sauce. I am not a fan of anything spicy, so I didn't care for it.
SopeAt 3am, there was still a long line of people, perhaps there after a good night of partying or clubbing. I knew it had to be good if there were so many people there still at that time. I ordered a SOPE, while the rest of my friends ordered tacos and burritos and we waited a good 20- 30 minutes for it. By the time i actually got my food, I was so tired, I wasn't sure if I had the energy to still eat it. We brought the food back to our friends place, while the others were waiting for their food.
Some fell asleep, but some waited for the food. Everyone got that special spicy sauce. It was funny because I was watching them all suffer from the spiciness of the sauce, but to my surprise they all continued to eat it, except one. One said, "It's so spicy...but its SOOO GOOOD."
As for me, I've never had a SOPE before...BUT it was SOOOO GOOOD!! I loved the fluffy tortilla like bread it came in. I wanted more after my one serving!! It looked simple, but it was delicious. I loved the flavor of the meat and the thick tortilla bread was delightful and different from the usual thin tortilla.
Next time I go back down, I am definitely paying this place another visit!!
