TinToretto Restaurant and Bakery @ The Venetian

3355 Las Vegas Blvd S.
Las Vegas, NV 89109

Occasion: Sunday night dinner for 3.  We split up to eat. My least favorite part about eating here was the fact that it smelled like chlorine and bleach. It's so hard to fully enjoy your meal when you're breathing in strong fumes of chemicals.  Other than that, the food was pretty good for the price.

Caprese Salad
Love ordering this and I am glad that the other two enjoy eating mozzarella, tomatoes and basil as much as I do. Great starter to start our meal off.
Pan seared chicken with sauteed mushrooms, veggies and potatoes
Very good.  I thought it was perfect. Healthy and not too much carbs where it will make me sleepy before another night of mayhem.  It was delicious and filling.  The chicken was moist and very flavorful.
Lasagna
I got to try a piece of it and it was really good.  I just wouldn't order it because I'm not a big lasagna person.  It's just too rich and filling for me; meaty and cheesy!  It's not that I dislike it, I'd just prefer to order something else on the menu before I would order this.
Shrimp Scampi
The waiter highly recommended it and so Fanny ordered it.  It was really good.  It was cooked it a sweet tomato based sauce, which was perfect because sometimes I find the tomato sauce to be a bit too tangy.  They gave a generous amount of shrimps too.  We were all very satisfied with each of our orders. YUM!

Jean Philippe Patisserie @ The Bellagio

3600 S. Las Vegas Blvd
Las Vegas, NV 89109

Occasion: Mid day dessert run! Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs.

Mango Gelato
The thought of it seriously makes me drool(yes even in this storming San Francisco weather) We were originally going to get 1 cake/ pastry each to share, but when I saw the mango gelato...it was just screaming at me to taste it.  I got a sample and fell in love with it.  It was perfect and I've never tasted anything mango flavored better than this.  It was sweet, but not too sweet.  It did not have an artificial sweet taste to it, but instead tasted very natural.  We were hooked...not only was the flavor amazing, the texture was right up there too.  It was soft and melted in my mouth.  I seriously don't know how else to explain it but the fact that it was like an orgasm in my mouth.  Seriously, their variety of gelatos are amazing and worth a try.  If you don't make it to Bellagio, they also have it in the new ARIA hotel.

Tirimisu
The best out of the desserts we tried

Key Lime
At first I didn't enjoy it that much, but as I took a few more bites I grew to like it a little more, but it was still nothing special

Macaroon
My least favorite one.

The presentations of the desserts were spectacular! It basically helped us determine which dessert we were going to get.  Too bad looks can be deceiving.

Grand Lux Cafe @ The Venetian

3355 Las Vegas Blvd S
Las Vegas, NV 89109

Occasion: Late night munching after a night of clubbing. I'm surprised that I still remembered to take pictures!
Buffalo Chicken Rolls
Chicken Breast, Cheese and their house made Spicy Delicious Buffalo Sauce all Rolled in a Spiced Wrapper and Fried until Crisp. Served with Celery Sticks and Blue Cheese Dressing

I don't remember most of the conversations, the eating and how long we were there.  But what I do distinctly remember was that this was superrrrrrrrrrrrrrr salty. I still ate it though. haha. Any other night, I would not have stuffed this in my mouth.  I guess I was just trying to stuff my stomach since, I did not have dinner that night. It was very interesting.  It tasted like buffalo wings but it was in a roll form, where the skins were deep fried.  Interesting, but I would not order again, since I'm not that big on fried foods.

Grand Club Sandwich
Freshly Roasted Turkey, Crisp Applewood Smoked Bacon, Arugula, Tomato and Mayonnaise on Toast. Served with French Fries.
I don't know why I ordered this because I am not even a big fan of bacon.  I think I just picked out the bacon and ate the sandwich without it.  I do remember munching on the fries though.  How can you go wrong with fries. Nom nom nom!

Kokomo's Steak & Seafood

3400 Las Vegas Blvd S
Las Vegas, Nevada 89109
Mirage Hotel

Occasion: Nice fancy dinner on Sunday night. Half of us had to babysit the trouble maker @ a nice dinner while the other half went to watch the Jabbawockees.  Shared two entrees, 1 appetizer and a side amongst three people. 12.19.10

Seared Jumbo Scallops
with shallot butter sauce and chive oil
My favorite, I just had to order it.  I know what tastes good is biased based on each individual's likings, but this was probably my favorite thing we ordered.  Not the best scallops I've had, but they were juicy and tender with a little bit of a crisp on the outsides.  Though it was lacking a bit in flavor, I still seemed to enjoy it.

Crab Cakes
I got to try a little bit of this.  I know to other's it might have been a bit dry or lacking in moisture, but I didn't think so.  I think I prefer less mayonnaise- like taste to my crab cakes, which is probably why I thought these were decent.
Seabass
Definitely not the best I've ever had.  Very disappointed! How do you call this a steak and seafood restaurant if you can't even make your fish right. Sigh. It was definitely lacking in flavor.  Meat was very soft and tender, but there was no sauce to compliment it.
Porter House Steak 26 oz
The kitchen was nice enough to cut it up for us, since there were three of us sharing it.  Luckily we all have the same taste and wanted it cooked medium rare.  Again, not the best piece of meat I've had. But then again, I am not meat snob.  I am still learning about my meats and trying to figure out my own cut and liking.  We asked for a red wine reduction sauce with it, which in my opinion was bland in flavor and was a bit bitter.  It definitely did not compliment the meat too well.  I wish our server had gave us input on his recommendation with the type of sauce this cut of meat would be good with.  We were able to get a taste of the tomato butter sauce and that was amazing, perhaps due to the butter.
Filet Mignon
Got to try a piece of Jason's Filet Mignon. Egh. It was just mediocre.  Maybe because I am from a foodie city...and I'm spoiled with tons of great eats in San Francisco.  Our city is definitely home to many chef's of great culinary skills who are top of the line in comparison to those of Las Vegas' (well at least in my opinion it is).  I'd much rather have filet at Ruth's Chris', 5A5 or Alexanders...that's what I'd call a steakhouse.
Mashed potatoes
I love mashed potatoes!! The chunkier the better. This definitely helped as a filler! Yummy!

Pho Kim Long

4029 Spring Mountain Road
Las Vegas, Nevada 89102

Occasion: Vietnamese Food at 8am because a group of drunk obnoxious guys would not let us sleep. 12.19.10

Bun Bo Hue
First time every having it!  I wish there was pork blood in it, but there wasn't.  In my opinion it wasn't too bad. It was very flavorful and not too spicy...just the way I like it.
Spring Rolls
Just mediocre. I've definitely had better and they need to work on the peanut sauce!
Imperial Rolls
I guess it was decent considering it was 9am in the morning. Who eats imperial rolls at 9am -__- only zombie fools like us. haha.

Le Cirque

Bellagio Hotel and Casino
Las Vegas, Nevada

Occasion: Our nice and fancy dinner while in vegas! Celebrating Anita's belated birthday 9.19.10.

Oyster with Cheese puff
It was a complimentary appetizer to start us off. The oyster was sweet and flavorful.  I don't really know how to explain it, but it was fatty in a good way.  The cheese puff was scrumptious and I was able to finish it in two bites.
Lobster Salad
with a black truffle vinaigrette wrapped in cucumber
It was a tasty refreshing salad as our appetizer.  There were big chunks of lobster in the salad. Definitely felt like I found gold when I bit into it.  They did not skimp you on the lobster at all-I LIKE THAT! The salad itself wasn't too big, which surprised me to be able to find such big chunks of lobster. Good job Le Cirque!
Sauteed Foie Gras
with raisin brioche, nashi pear, candied cherry and rhubarb gastrique
Anita's first time having it.  I got to try a little bit and I thought it was delicious. Anita thought so too and enjoyed her first experience!
Risotto
with fresh summer truffles
With an extra cost of $24, Jenny and I decided to get this instead of the foie gras as our second dish. FREAKING OFF THE HOOK, AMAZING! We both really enjoyed it. The rich flavor of the truffle definitely added to not only the aroma of it,but also the taste.  It was delicous and very filling! Sooo GOOD!
Papiette of Sea Bass with Braised leeks in a pinot noir sauce
The way it was prepared was really interesting. It was wrapped in a thin slice of what seemed to be potato.  The potatoe seemed to have been baked or roasted and was crispy.  Sow hen you bite into it...there's the crisp texture of the potato with the tender meat of the seabass.  I love fish and I loved how this was prepared and presented.  It did not disappoint my taste buds.
Filet mignon strips
By the time this came out, I was stuffed! This dish did not execute for me! It was kind of bland, the meat was very dry and it just did not satisfy.  Luckily, I was really full already. I didn't finish it.
Sorbet Palette Cleanser
Tarte Tartin aux Pommes, Glace au Gingembre, Fruit de Passion
Apple Tarte Tartin, Ginger Ice Cream, Passion Fruit
I've never been a big fan of apple desserts, so I just thought this was mediocre.

Crème Brûlée "Le Cirque"

Classic Tahitian Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée

This is more my kind of dessert. Loved it!
Petiflors
It's funny, no matter how full I am, I always have room for dessert. It's like I have two stomachs; one for food and one for dessert
