Monte Cristo
Breast of Turkey, Baked Ham, Cheddar and Havarti Cheese Bread dipped in Egg and grilled, served with Homemade Jam
We yelped it before going and this was one of the most popular and yelped about dish. It definitely lived up to the hype. It was french toast filled with turkey, ham and melted cheese. Sounds weird, but it was sooooo good. I like french toast and never thought to combine it with turkey, ham and cheese. We tried to eat it in many different ways. First we tried it with the homemade strawberry jam, which was good, but not really with the sandwich. The jam tasted fresh and home made. I would have much preferred the jam with an english muffin. We also tried to drizzle syrup on the monte cristo, which turned out to be really good. When I think of french toast I think of syrup. But syrup with turkey, ham and cheese too? DO IT!!! It sounds off, but it was delicious. Have a little bit of sweet with the savory. I highly recommend this!

Mama's French Toast Sampler
with a glass of fresh squeezed Orange Juice
I love french toast. Or should I say the classic french toast. Here at Mama's its good, but it didn't wow me that much. Maybe I just don't like the three different kinds of house made bread they used. The first one i tried was a cranberry, orange and walnut bread. It was ok. I didn't like how the dried cranberries and orange bits made it so tart. When I think of french toast, I think a mouth full of delicious sweetness and cinnamon, not tart and tangy flavors. Then there was the cinnamon bread, which was delicious!! Just what I had imagined the french toast to taste like. The third slice of bread was a banana walnut bread. It was ok, but again, not the flavor I wanted for my french toast. Next time I go, I'm going to order the swedish cinnamon or even the chocolate cinnamon.
The fresh squeezed orange juice was sooooo good and so sweet! Loved it and the pulp in it. Reminds me of home squeezed orange juice.
