Sneaky's BBQ

1760 Market St
San Francisco, CA 94110

Occasion: Trying out a new BBQ with 4 guys. Eating BBQ at a gay bar. Pretty interesting. 07.23.11

IMG_6475 Baby-Back Ribs
with their signature dry-rubbed pork ribs
It was nice and flavorful with a smokey flavor, but the meat wasn't as tender as I was hoping it to be.  I like ribs with meat so tender that it falls off the bone.

4 Meat Combination Plate
Pulled Pork: a Carolina classic, dressed with vinegar-pepper sauce
Brisket: from Creekstone Farms, dry-rubbed and sliced thickly from the whole
Kurobuta Pork Belly: our richest cut, from the finest heritage line
Wings: nine jumbo wings, rubbed, smok
ed, and fried, tossed in your choice of sauce
Chicken wings were a favorite amongst our group.  Everyone enjoyed it.  Portion of the pulled pork was generous and the tangy vinaigrette flavor was addicting.  Pork Belly was good, but very rich and the brisket was juicy, but chewy.

Side dishes: Macaroni and Cheese, Cole Slaw, Hand-Cut Fries, Cornbread
Fries were bomb! Loved the fact that they used shell pasta for their macaroni and cheese. Cole slaw was not too mayonnaise-y.  I don't usually enjoy cole slaw, but this one wasn't too shabby.  I was actually too full from the meat to enjoy the cornbread.

Manna

845 Irving St
San Francisco, CA 94122

Occasion: Catch up dinner with my college roomie 07.19.11=] We can go months without seeing each other or hanging out and pick up where we left off.  Chose this place because it brings back Davis memories when we used to eat Korean food at a restaurant with the exact same name.

Soft Tofu Soup
Pretty good and not too spicy, but still flavorful.  I ate it with a little bit of rice.

Bibimbop
My favorite thing to order. It's delicious, healthy and what I like.  I love the idea of the fried egg on top and the fact that it's in a stone pot so that it makes the rice crispy.  I don't usually add too much of the spicy red sauce it comes with.  Just a touch of that will do for me.

Tanuki Restaurant

4419 California St
San Francisco, CA 94118

Occasion: Dinner date with the besty! 07.13.11

Rolls
I don't remember what exactly we ordered, but everything was really authentic, tasty and fresh.  I would definitely recommend my friends to come here for authentic and decent priced quality sushi!

Bluestem Brasserie

One Yerba Buena Ln
San Francisco, CA 94103

Occasion: Date night with Ella. Started our evening here for dinner, moved on to get a massage then dessert. Perfect hangout! 07.07.11

Beef Carpaccio
Mussels
Bone Marrow
Grass fed Burger and Fries

We made our way to this restaurant after only being open for about a week. Decor of the place was amazing. I loved the simplicity, yet modern look of the place.  The tall ceilings gave it a more spacious feel and the windows definitely let in a lot of natural sunlight.  The food was okay and there is definitely room for improvement.  I would give this place another try after it has hopefully learned from all it's mistakes and after they have perfected their dishes.

Red Door Cafe

1608 Bush St
San Francisco, CA 94108

Occasion: Double date brunch date with the bff. 07.10.11

French Toast Josephine with berries and banana and sprinkled with nuts W
We all shared this between 4 people.  It was very beautifully presented! It was good, but not the best French Toast I've had.  I can definitely say it's the best experience I've had at a restaurant while having my french toast.

The French Quarter
with pork sausage, scrambled eggs and cheese with new orleans spicy chile bean sauce in cubed tortilla and topped with beans and corn in a  salsa verde sauce.
Both Jenny and I ordered this! It looked as nice as it tasted! Absolutely freaking delicious! It definitely had a spicy kick to it!  When I ordered it, I didn't expect it to come in that form.  I actually thought it would be more of a scramble than a breakfast burrito, but definitely was not disappointed.
Two Titties
with soft shell cuban tacos with a spicy cajun hummus puree, cuban lime cilantro salsa, corn, two fried eggs and chopped up bacon bits topped with a spicy balsamic sauce
The boys ordered this!  Definitely a heavy and rich meal.  It was loaded with bacon bits that were rich in flavor.  It was way too spicy for my tastebuds.  I got to try one bite and it overwhelmed my mouth with wonderful flavors and great texture.  It was good, but I liked my dish more.
